Dr Ian Blyth joined the University of the 杏吧原创 and Islands in 2013. He is a graduate of the University of St Andrews, and held various teaching and research posts there before coming to 杏吧原创; he has also worked at the universities of Dundee and Hull. Ian鈥檚 research interests are primarily in mediaeval Arthurian literature (c. 600 - 1400), the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, James Macpherson鈥檚 Ossianic translations in the 1760s, environmental philosophy (especially sentience and ethics), and the representation of nature in science fiction, fantasy, and myth from the early classical period to the present day.
