Professor James Hunter will be giving talks in Nairn, Dingwall, Fort William and Elgin over the next few weeks and signing copies of his new book 'Insurrection'. James Hunter is Professor Emeritus and Senior Researcher at the Centre for History, University of the 杏吧原创 and Islands, and author of many studies of Highland history, including the seminal 'The Making of the Crofting Community'.  His latest book examines the critical winter of 1846-7, a season which followed the failure of the potato crop and increasing food hunger and civil unrest in the 杏吧原创. What follows was both inspiring and traumatic. Come and hear what he has to say!
