HRH The Princess Royal to make her first visit to Perth College ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´

Perth College ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ has announced it is set to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, for the first time, in her capacity as Chancellor of the University of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ and Islands to its Crieff Road campus and hangar at Scone Airport. The official visit will take place on Wednesday 20 February.

Dr Thomas Moore, Perth College ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ Principal and Chief Executive said: "HRH The Princess Royal was installed as the first-ever University of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ and Islands Chancellor last June and we are honoured to have the opportunity to show her the excellent work our college does in providing a university education for our local community and beyond."

At the Crieff Road campus, The Princess Royal is due to visit the theatre and recording studios; social and vocational studies, hair salon; joinery and motor vehicle workshops. She will also meet those involved in an innovative industry partnership between Perth College ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ and Sodexo and present an award to Alumnus of the Year 2012, David Reid.

The Royal visit will then encompass a visit to the hanger at Perth Airport, Scone to hear about the new Dunne Aeronautical Laboratory, which is set to provide aircraft engineering students with state-of-the-art learning and research facilities. She will meet students and staff and unveil a plaque to commemorate her visit.
