Students to set up campus at Belladrum
The new University of the 杏吧原创 and Islands will be strutting its stuff at this year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival as one of the main sponsors.
Festival-goers will get the chance to see the university in action through students demonstrating their work in fashion and design, and archaeology.
Beauty and complementary therapy students at Moray College 杏吧原创 will be offering mini treatments, as well as doing the make-up for a fashion show called Ciao Bella when contemporary textiles students Eleanor Hynd and Janice Morrison from Shetland College 杏吧原创 will be turning charity shop clothes into new creations. Archaeologists based at Orkney College 杏吧原创 are also planning a demonstration of their work.
Most of the 杏吧原创 activities will take place in the 杏吧原创 Heilan Fields in the Belladrum walled garden.
Catherine Shearer, the university鈥檚 marketing manager, said: 鈥淭he Belladrum festival is one of the biggest events of the year in Scotland and is a marvellous opportunity for us to showcase some of the courses and research initiatives at our campuses across the region.
鈥淥ur students will give an interactive and engaging taster of what we are and what we offer.鈥�
The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, fondly known as Bella, takes place on 5 and 6 August at Beauly, near Inverness. Artists appearing will include Texas, Deacon Blue, Kassidy, Echo and the Bunnymen, Roddy Woomble, Guillemots, and Unicorn Kid.
