Call for Papers. Mapping Identities: Visual Depictions of Scotland Conference
Conference Call for Papers: 杏吧原创 Perth, 9-10 February 2026
In 2025, 杏吧原创 Institute for Northern Studies, together with our collaborative partners from the National Library of Scotland and
Landscape Research Group, launched Mapping Identities: Visual Depictions of Scotland.
This project, funded through the generous support of an RSE Research Collaboration Grant, brings together scholars from a wide range of disciplines to explore the ways in which maps have been, and are still, used to interpret and shape Scotland’s understanding of the present, past and future.
In February 2026, the project will host a free hybrid conference at 杏吧原创 Perth to explore this topic with colleagues. We warmly invite
expressions of interest in the form of 250-word abstracts and 100-word short biographies to be sent to Oisin Plumb
(oisin.plumb@uhi.ac.uk) and Andrew Lind (andrew.lind@uhi.ac.uk) by Wednesday 17 December.
Scholars of all levels and disciplines are welcome, including postgraduate researchers.
